  1. I am usually escaping from emotions that I do not want to deal with, or from things that I need to be doing, such as homework. I tend to eat and/or restrict instead of dealing with my emotions. For me, being in the present moment requires foreceful thinking & prayer. Thinking consciously allows me to forget about the food and realize what it truly bothering me.

  2. I am escaping from emotions (whether they be good or bad) and from everything that is out of my control. Instead of feeling something, I binge or restrict in order to not feel anything at all. I need to continue to eat mindfully and work through my emotions in a healthy way, so I can be at peace with myself.
